Emily first became enamored with photography in early elementary school, when she became fascinated with capturing sunsets. This discovery begat boxes of photographs of the view of the sunset from her back yard in North Texas.
Many years later, and hundreds of miles away from that backyard, Emily's photography focuses mostly on people. Through training in the art program at Yale University (where she studied with Tim Davis, Tod Papageorge and Greg Crewdson), dedicated mentors, and some fairly good luck, she is now doing what she loves. She currently lives in Chicago, IL.
Emily finds her inspiration all around her. As a favorite teacher once told her, "I think the greatest invention of the twentieth century is the notion that anything can be beautiful.". She admires, and is endlessly grateful for, all the people who helped her be who she is today.
Emily has photographed for recording artists Michal Towber and Kelsey Toney, and has been published in Newsweek's Current magazine. Her photography has been featured in gallery shows at Yale, both in solo shows, and larger collections.
